The clouds look almost... real. It's as though they're moving. And the dragons outline... just wow. This is absolutely beautiful. It's one of those pieces most people wouldn't really give a second look. But when you look closely, you really start to appreciate the magnificence of it. This is a well-deserved Daily Deviation.
Why of all places would you put that comment here? You act as if this painting is trash compared to yours, like this artist was below your skill. I feel like Jungle-Fire put a lot of effort into this and you talk down to him/her like that?
1. If you have a problem with the DDs chosen you're not supposed to say it here. How do you think the artist will respond to that? & 2. I think this piece is beautiful with obvious talent and ORIGINALITY. Not everything chosen has to be prefect, but this is pretty darn good. Definitely better than AVERAGE. Go look at the front page on newest, 90% of the pieces wont measure up to this
i like the old Japanese looking style you have to it, that is why it got a DD. Because it's not like modern art which is just photographs of a fucking glass bottle and people trying to make that glass bottle look dramatic.
I'm not telling off the artist, I'm making a general comment. Anyway the mods are arrogant, they don't listen to your advice. They award DDs as they see fit with no regard to regular deviants' opinion.
I know you are probably not, but that doesn't mean others won't read it that way. Tone is not something easily conferred in comments such as these. I know some won't listen to advice, but then why even say it, the artist doesn't benefit from the comment certainly.
Let others read it as they like, it's here to state something of an opinion. I'm tired of everyone crawling around wondering whether they're going to offend someone with an offhand comment. If you're (or anyone else who reads this) is offended, I'll trouble you to become even more offended by saying harden the fuck up. It's simply an offhand comment.
This is absolutely gorgeous! Your art style reminds me of a storybook I read years and years ago, with the beautiful style of painting and rough lines for the boulders and the dragon's spine. I can't remember what book it was exactly, but I felt very happy when looking at this. Amazing detail with the scales and the clouds, congrats on a well-deserved DD.
